1. Data We Collect
Yes No Detective (the "Service") can be used without creating an account. We collect: · Anonymous identifier — a random ID stored in your browser (localStorage), not linked to your name or contact details. · Gameplay records — the question/answer text you type, AI verdicts, and scores; used to improve verdict quality and analyze misjudgments. · IP address — used only for daily usage limits and abuse prevention. · Error & performance data — for diagnosing service errors (Sentry). · Usage analytics — page visits and gameplay events (PostHog). No advertising trackers. · (Optional) Google Sign-In — only if you choose to back up your progress; we store your Google account identifier and email address. Your profile name and photo are kept in your browser for display only and are not sent to our server. · (Optional) Marketing consent — when signing in with Google you may opt in to receiving game news and updates by email; we store whether and when you consented. Consent is never a condition of using the Service, can be withdrawn anytime on the My Account page, and is removed when you delete your server backup.
2. About AI Processing
The dealer of this game (the "Archivist") is an AI. Question and answer text you enter is sent to an external AI provider (Google Gemini API) for judging. Case stories and artwork are AI-generated fiction, unrelated to real people or events. AI verdicts may occasionally be inaccurate.
3. Cookies & Local Storage
We use no advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser's localStorage holds the anonymous identifier, settings, and progress records; clearing browser data removes them (a linked Google backup remains on the server).
4. Retention
· Active game-room state: automatically deleted within 24 hours after the last activity. · Gameplay logs and backup data: retained as needed to operate and improve the Service, and deleted without undue delay upon request.
5. Processors (Third Parties)
We rely on: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database), Google (Gemini API for AI judging; Google Sign-In if you opt in), OpenAI (content-production tools such as image generation), Sentry (error reporting), and PostHog (analytics). We do not sell personal data.
6. Your Rights (incl. GDPR)
You may request access, rectification, erasure, or restriction of your data. Include the ID shown at the bottom of the in-game tutorial or in Settings and contact us below. EU residents have the rights provided by the GDPR, including objection and lodging a complaint with a supervisory authority.
